Empire Club Housing Event

NBA Joins the Empire Club Conversation on Affordable Housing

Nation Building Alliance President & CEO Jesse Porter and VP, Strategy & Partnerships David Qi attended the Empire Club of Canada’s October 2 luncheon in Toronto as guests of our sponsor and housing partner, Borderless Corp.

Housing & Public Engagement

NBA attended at the invitation of Borderless Corp. on October 2, 2026.

A national conversation on housing delivery

Held at Arcadian Court on Friday, October 2, the event featured Ana Bailão, Chief Executive Officer of Build Canada Homes, for a keynote address and a fireside chat moderated by Benjamin Tal, Deputy Chief Economist at CIBC. Under the theme “Building What Canada Needs,” the event explored affordable housing delivery, lessons from BCH’s first year, and the role of partnerships, investment and modern construction methods in increasing housing supply. Connecting the conversation with community priorities

For NBA, the event’s focus on partnerships and practical delivery connects with our work bringing Indigenous communities and housing partners together. Community priorities, capable delivery teams and lasting relationships all matter when exploring housing solutions. Attending alongside Borderless offered an opportunity to hear national housing perspectives and meet fellow participants. We look forward to continuing these conversations as we explore community-led housing opportunities, including modular construction and the partnerships needed to move projects forward.

Thank you to Borderless

We thank Borderless Corp. for inviting NBA to its sponsor table and for its continued support of our work. We also thank the Empire Club of Canada for convening this discussion on one of the country’s most pressing challenges. Event photography: Empire Club of Canada. View the official photo album.
