NBA Leadership Joins the 48th Jalsa Salana Canada

NBA President & CEO Jesse Porter and VP, Strategy & Partnerships David Qi attended the national convention at the invitation of Faheem Affan, Assistant National Secretary, Public Relations and Director of the Parliamentary Friends Association.

Direct dialogue with national leadership

Jesse Porter and David Qi met with Lal Khan Malik, National Amir of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Canada, to discuss Indigenous affairs, community well-being, service and possible areas of future cooperation.

A nationally significant gathering

Jalsa Salana brings members, public leaders and community representatives together for worship, learning, service and dialogue. The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at has described itself to the Senate of Canada as the country’s oldest organized Muslim community, with mosques and community centres in more than 50 cities.

Building relationships with national reach

The meeting connected NBA’s executive leadership with the national leadership of a well-established faith community and opened a broader dialogue on Indigenous priorities, partnership and service. The engagement remains exploratory.
